two years or more out of flask
This Peony from Taurus Mountains behind Kemer, Anatalia Turkey, seems to be an intermediate between P. mascula and P kesrouanensis.
It has the typical curved mascula stigmas, and thus not coiled at apex. Also it has naked fruits and greyish shorth hairs under the leaves.
The very heavy coloured, rubry, purple and cherry, sometimes close to P parnassica - flowers with yellow anthers are surrounded with somewhat pointed dark purple green leaves .This plant is an astonishing beauty.
Also the much later flowertime corresponds more to P mascula.
