A P. daurica subspecies from the Velebit mountains in Croatia . This most western daurica species has been obscure for a long time because of lack of good recent evidence. Thanks to the rediscovery and very proffesional investigation, pictures, and description of Peter Bohnert we now have the perfect proof of the true species. This is a very valuable addition of our European Paeonia species. Flowers seem to be most often white to light rose with red veins. Very large plants, leaves, not waved rims, greyish, hairs on stems and below leaves.
