Botanical Peonies are a very good compliment in wild flower and orchid gardens . They prefer corners that are unsuitable for orchids as they like fairly rich dry and warm soils, with low air humidity. Besides they are avoided by slugs and most insects by their toxicity. Wild Peonies are protected and threatened plants whith a magical history. Especially the wild true strains need to be cultivated in order to prevent disappearance of the species. Similar to orchids they take some years to reach maturity. Young non adult Peonies adapt much better after transplanting.
