Recently described, by prof. I Camarda, this endemic species of Sardinia is a very robust mascula type . It grows on fresh vulcanic soils and can reach 1 meter height. Recognisable by its glaucus totally glabrous leaves which are much more rounded at the apex when young compared to other mascula's. It bears purple red flowers. It is tetra ploid in contrast with P morisii the more wide spread species of Sardinia.
