Cypripedium reginae is a very strange cross parent. In many cases after cross polinating with Tibeticum/macranthos type and several others as well, it produces for , by far the largest %,  only pure regineas.

Seldom we get real crosses as we would expect. The specimen here is propably a cross with macranthos alba.
