Delightful eastern European species with fantastic bowl shaped fist size scarlet red flowers. Our very robust and tollerant  motherplants have big fist size flowers which open easily on sunny days and show their nice yellow anthers. It is an eye catching object for both wild or cultivated garden. Together with its relative P saueri one of our  favourites. Be aware that  certain clones, Turkisch or of other different origin often form  smaller plants with smaller more closed flowers .
