Paeonia japonica / Paeonia obovata var. japonica. Mt Mitake type.

We prefer to use the old names for this very delicate Eastern Peony which belongs now to the Paeonia obovata subsp. obovata complex ( Hong De- Yuan )

Nice white or ivory white flowers, bigger foliage, light green,  and completely glabrous. Horticultural completely different from regular Paeonia obovata Alba.

Currently an endangered wild flower of Japan. It needs a year to establish, but is long living and easy flowering for rather shady spot  It has very nice fall colours .
